Crochet Christmas Stocking, number two

Second stocking done.  Somewhat narrower at the leg portion than the previous, which somehow ended up with extra stitches after the heel.

I also tried a different method for turning the heel, and I like it better .

Crochet Christmas Stocking

Just finished the first of 4 stocking I will be making this year, each in a different base color.  This one is for my husband, who loves bright pink.  I  will be adding a hanger and a decorative element to each of them when they are done.

I am not using a pattern for this.  I didn't find any information was happy with, so I am winging it. 

Also, I have discovered a Blogger oops.  I can email posts, as I am doing with this one, but somewhere along the line, Blogger changed things and it changed the email address to do so.  I missed this, so I have been emailing posts to a non-existant address.  I got no failure notifications, so I have no idea where they ended up.

So I hope to have posts actually show up more often, now that I've fixed this. lol

Cramped yarn

I have been working on a line of reflective yarn items that will eventually make it into my Etsy shop. 

The problem has become getting the yarn in a variety of colours.  Few places locally carry it, and those that do seem to be dropping the line.  Even fewer seemed to carry the full range of colours available.

So I finally broke down and bought some from an online Canadian supplier.  Two balls in 3 different colours.  I don't buy much online at all, but there wasn't much choice.

I just got a tiny box delivered.  At first, I thought it held 2 balls of yarn, and I had images of my daughter's tiny iPod coming in a giant box.

I was wrong!  All 6 balls were squished into the box.  No wasted space!

My fingers... they itch for a hook now.

Whoops...

I was wrong.  My order is missing one ball of olive green.

Time to send an email...

Almost got it

So I finished the cat cave this morning.  All I had left was to frame the entry.  I had used the plastic "wire" for weed wackers to give stability in different areas, including a "window" at the top. For the entry,  I doubled the thickness.

Then I put it out for the cats.

Freya really likes it, but not in the way I expected. Lol.

There are a few things I will change for the next one I make, but I will address them when I am at a keyboard.

Very handy to have the yarn inside.  At least while there is still room to take it out.

I've started what will be a cat cave in blanket yarn. I lay the base on the floor to check the size.

Freya promptly claimed it.

Which is good, since I am making it for her.
